History
Northeast Texas Health Services, Inc. (NETHS),
was established by Joe and Jean Jordan in 1975 when the company
was awarded a pilot program contract by the Texas Department of
Human Services (TDHS) to determine the cost effectiveness of
contracting with a private company to provide Family Care Service
to recipients of the State of Texas Medicaid system. At its inception
in 1975, NETHS served five (5) counties, providing Family Care
Services, Skilled Nursing Care and Home Health Aide coverage. In 1979,
NETHS added another five (5) counties to their Family Care Program.
In 1980, thirteen (13) counties were added, bringing the total to twenty
three (23) counties. In 1980 another TDHS Medicaid program, Primary
Home Care, was added to the service being provided.
Jordan Health Services, Inc. (JHS), was formed in 1983
by Joe and Jean Jordan to parallel services provided by NETHS. Joe and
Jean operated both agencies until Joe's death in 1986.

an active role in the management of the agencies. Services and area coverage
