Company History

In 1975, Northeast Texas Health Services, Inc., (NETHS), was established by Joe and Jean Jordan. The company was awarded a contract to provide Family Care services to Medicaid recipients. This program began as a pilot project by the State of Texas in its effort to determine the cost effectiveness of utilizing a private company to provide in-home services. In the beginning, the company serviced five Texas counties. Over a 6-year period an additional eighteen counties were added. In 1980, Texas implemented Primary Home Care which broadened the scope of in-home services available to Medicaid recipients. Jordan was on the cutting edge of a program that today provides care to literally thousands of frail, elderly citizens of the State of Texas.

Joe and Jean went on to form Jordan Health Services, Inc. (JHS), which paralleled the services provided by NETHS. Following the death of Joe in 1986, the three Jordan children, Dale, Mike, and Miki, took an active role in the management of the organization. Jordan continued to expand its service area and the variety of its home care programs. Today, Jordan provides traditional Medicare Home Health and is contracted with the State of Texas to provide various Medicaid programs including Primary Home Care, Family Care, Community Based Alternatives, Respite Care, Comprehensive Care Programs, and Medically Dependent Children's Program.

Currently, Jordan is positioned to provide home healthcare in most counties throughout the State of Texas with offices located in Abilene, Addison (Dallas area), Arlington, Beaumont, Center, Corpus Christi, Del Rio, Edinburg, Greenville, Jasper, Jefferson, Laredo, Longview, Mt. Pleasant, Mt. Vernon, Palestine, Paris, Pasadena, San Antonio, Sherman, Teague, Texarkana, and Tyler. There is also an office in Texarkana, Arkansas.
