COMPREHENSIVE CARE PROGRAMS (CCP)
This Texas Health Steps program provides private duty nursing services to clients
under 21 years of age. The goal of the CCP program is to provide support services
to families and caregivers in the community to allow our clients to stay at home.
No Waiting List
- Private duty nursing - not respite care
- Client must meet medical necessity criteria
- Under 21 years of age
- Live in the state of Texas
- Client has been seen by primary physician within 30 days of the start of care (SOC)
- Based on medical necessity, diagnosis, nursing/multiple skills need
- Renewed every 2 months with child stable
MEDICALLY DEPENDENT CHILDREN PROGRAMS (MDCP)
The Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP) provides care for
families with medically involved children and young adults, as a
cost-effective alternative to providing for their care in a nursing
facility. The program serves a limited number of children and is
available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Individuals determined
eligible for MDCP also receive Medicaid coverage.
Waiting List
- Respite and adjunct supports, home medications, adaptive aids
- Home and community services
- Under 21 years of age
- Live in the state of Texas
- Meet medical necessity for nursing facility care - TILE
- Have physician approved/signed individual plan of care (IPC)
- Qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or SSI disability criteria
- Financial criteria based on income and resources of the child, not parent
- Yearly (12 mo) authorization
